Local Magazine Taps CDP

I was honored to shoot the cover for one of Wilmington’s coolest magazines. Tourists and locals alike love Focus on the Coast for its fun, relevant articles and tips on everything from what to wear, to where to eat. Featured in the July issue is Lumina Station ~ a small mecca of upscale shops and eateries. We thought it would be fun to show a couple of kids enjoying this outdoor shopping venue. Look for more Focus on the Coast covers from us coming soon!

Yes, We Still Do Stills!

Somebody asked me the other day if I still took pictures. I know I’ve been doing a lot of video lately, but YES, photography is still a big part of the game plan! So in response to that comment, I’m ramping up promotion for my portrait work. Capturing a person’s personality in their element has always been a rewarding assignment and I love getting those calls. If you’re new to the blog, check out the FACES site at cdphoto.com/faces. We’re Rolling!

I’m thrilled to be sharing a new website and a new Vimeo channel with you all. I’d like to thank a few folks for helping me get to this point. Evan, Joey, Jesse, Paschal and Joseph — your guidance and support is much appreciated. I’ve always said that the reason I loved photography was because it’s a beautiful blend of art and science. Well, now that combo has a really fast engine and flames painted on the side. Fasten your seat belts!

NEW Director of Photography Reel

Today I shared my new reel as Director of Photography with a few Twitter and Facebook friends. If you didn’t get the link, you can see it below. This collection of clips is from short films and commercials that I’ve been working on recently. Coming soon is a new website called Motion AND a Vimeo channel that will feature most of these videos in their entirety. The need for this content is growing rapidly. And we’re ready to create it. Let’s roll!

Friday Night Lights

It’s fall, and it’s Friday night. To a lot of folks, that can mean only one thing—Football. A friend of mine who works as a field official invited me to shoot a high school game here in Wilmington. As an avid football fan, I excitedly agreed. One of the best calls of the night was to capture the game in black and white, which tends to elevate the drama (we all know how dramatic high school was, right?). It was a nail-biter, and the home team edged out the visitors in the final moments. For the whole story, from pre-game to post-victory, visit  http://tiny.cc/NHS_football
